Forging the mythical from the commonplace, Brian Bacon sounds like a lost master from the 1970s-era California folk rock scene. His latest album, "Murder of Crows" verges on rock opera in the way it interweaves stories about smalltown characters and situations and casts them against a grand backdrop of gorgeous melody-forward music with roots in the soul, folk and rock that was common to a prior version of pop music. He'll perform on keys with his band including electric guitar, sax, drums and bass.
